Wash and scrub your limes.
Slice the limes into quarters. Remove the white, stringy interior from the middle of the lime pieces.
Add the quartered limes, peel and all, plus the water to a blender.
Blend on high for no more than 10 seconds.Blending for too long can make the limes bitter! Pour everything through a fine mesh sieve to strain the liquid into a pouring container.
Rinse out the blender, then pour in the lime juice. You should have about 32 ounces of juice.Pour in the can of sweetened condensed milk as well. Blend until everything is incorporated.
When ready to serve, pour over glasses filled with ice. Serve with extra lime wedges for garnish and enjoy!
Tips:
If you are really sensitive to bitter flavors - zest the green peel of the limes into the blender, then cut out the lime flesh and blend those together.
Discard the remaining white layer of lime, known as the pith. This is the most bitter part of the fruit!
Storage Instructions:
This can be made a couple of hours ahead. Store in the refrigerator, and blend once more before serving. Sometimes the lemonade will slightly separate after sitting for a while.
