Equipment

  • Vegetable Brush
  • Fork
  • Sheet Pan
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Small Whisk

Ingredients

  • 4 count sweet potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ tablespoon chai spice blend
  • flaky sea salt (to taste)

Instructions

  • To begin, wash the outside of your potatoes well and pierce them all over with a fork.
  • Add the potatoes to a foil-lined baking sheet.
    Don't wrap the potatoes!
  • Bake at 400°F for 45 minutes. A fork inserted in the center should come out smoothly.
  • Meanwhile, set your butter on the counter until it's softened.
  • Whisk in the brown sugar and chai spice blend.
Using a whisk helps get the compound butter nice and fluffy. Add the compound butter to the refrigerator to chill if you prefer.
  • Once the potatoes are done, remove from the oven and slice down the middle.
  • Add the chai butter on top, then sprinkle some flaky salt for garnish. Enjoy!

Notes

Be sure that you do not wrap the potatoes in foil. This will steam the skin and make it almost slimy. We want a nice crispy potato skin!
