Equipment

  • 2 Deli Containers
  • Pastry Bag optional
  • 2 Silicone Spatulas or butter knives
  • Parchment Paper
  • Sheet Pan

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces dark or milk chocolate chips or candy melts
  • 8 ounces white chocolate chips or candy melts
  • 1 bag jumbo pretzel rods 40 count
  • sprinkles, crushed cookies, or mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Pour the chocolate chips or candy melt squares into two separate deli containers.
  • Heat in the microwave in 30-second increments, until fully melted. Stir to ensure the chocolate is smooth.
  • Dip the pretzel rods into the melted chocolate, leaving about 1 ½ inches uncovered. Place on a plate lined with parchment paper.
You can either dip the rods into the cup directly, or pour a line of chocolate onto a separate sheet of parchment and roll the rods around until covered.
  • Decorate with Halloween-themed sprinkles, crushed Oreos, chopped candy, and/or chocolate drizzles.
If you want to drizzle on more chocolate, let the base coat set in the fridge before adding a top layer.
  • Let the Magic Wands set in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Happy Halloween!

Notes

Tips & Tricks:
Try to buy a quality brand of pretzel rods with as little breakage as possible.
I recommend melting as little chocolate as possible to avoid overheating your chocolate. Using the parchment paper method (pour a line of chocolate onto parchment paper and roll the rods in that pile to cover) tends to be most effective.

Leftover Candy Melts:
Let the leftover chocolate set on the parchment paper. You can add it back to your deli container, cover with a lid, and store in the pantry for up to 2 months!

Storage Instructions:
Store these in a large resealable bag or an airtight container for up to a week. You can keep these either on the counter at room temperature, or in the refrigerator.
Want to individually wrap these? Grab some thin cellophane bags and add a few pretzel rods into each bag, sealing with a twist tie or ribbon. I've also gifted these to friends and families using a decorative tin!
