    Ingredients

A wooden board containing bowls of ingredients for homemade mango sorbet.
    • Frozen Mangoes - To make it easier, just buy your fruit already frozen instead of using fresh and having to add ice.
    • Pineapple Juice - For natural sweetness and a hint of acidity to balance. Plus, pineapple and mango are a great flavor pairing!
    • Warm Water - After blitzing our fruit, some warm water helps get the silky smooth texture we're looking for.
    • Honey - I like to add a touch of honey for extra sweetness. The amount you want to add is up to you, although I do leave measurement suggestions in the recipe card!

    Variations and Substitutions

Strawberry Sorbet: Made with frozen berries. I love to swirl together strawberry sorbet and mango sorbet for a treat!

Peach Ginger Sorbet: A tasty sweet sorbet with a hint of warmth from the ginger.

Other Fruit Ideas: This recipe works well with any type of frozen fruit - try watermelon, pineapple, or blackberry sorbet.

Other Sweeteners: Allergic to pineapple? You can simply leave out the juice and add any extra sweetener. I've used honey, agave, or even simple syrup to sweeten with ease.

Drinks: Mix in a little liquor for an adult-only experience. Try rum for a tropical sunrise, or tequila + lime for a frozen mango margarita!

How to Make Mango Sorbet at Home

Like my other sorbet recipes, this one doesn't take much effort - or ingredients - to create. Grab a food processor or blender and get to blitzing!

A food processor with small pieces of frozen mango inside.

Step 1: Add frozen mango chunks to a food processor or blender.

Blitz the berries until they form small, icy pieces.

Step 2: Pour in the pineapple juice, warm water, and honey - blending until there's a soft and uniform texture.

    And that's all it takes!

    Recipe Pro Tip

    1. Like a more firm sorbet? Instead of enjoying right after blending, add to a loaf pan or deli container and cover with cling wrap and a lid. Then freeze for about an hour before stirring.

    Recipe FAQs

Why does this sorbet call for pineapple juice?

Because this dessert has no added sugar, using pineapple juice gives it a natural sweetness. Pineapple also has a little acidity which is great to balance the flavors of the fruit.

How long does homemade mango sorbet keep in the freezer?

Properly stored in an airtight container, this sorbet will keep for up to 4 months.
When you're ready to eat, I recommend letting the container sit out on the counter for a few minutes until it begins to thaw; then, stir well to get that soft texture back.
