This Peach Ginger Sorbet is creamy, refreshing, and perfectly sweet with a hint of zing from fresh ginger! Made without an ice cream machine, you can have a batch ready whenever the craving hits.

Two bowls of peach ginger sorbet with mint leaves on top.

This dairy-free sorbet is perfect as a sweet treat after dinner or even a palate cleanser if you're having multiple courses! We take peaches that were frozen at the peak of ripeness, and blend together with a ginger-infused simple syrup. It's made with only 4 ingredients, and doesn't require a lot of time.

    Ingredients

A wooden board containing bowls of ingredients for peach ginger sorbet made at home.
    • Frozen Peaches - To make it easier, just buy your fruit already frozen instead of using fresh and having to add ice.
    • Fresh Ginger - To give that subtle tang that will make this sorbet so delicious.
    • Simple Syrup - For sweetness. We steep the fresh ginger in this simple syrup so the taste is throughout the entire dish.
    • Warm Water - After blitzing our fruit, some warm water helps get the silky smooth texture we're looking for.

    Variations and Substitutions

Strawberry Sorbet: Also made with frozen berries. This one is a classic!

Mango Sorbet: This one is naturally sweetened with mango and pineapple for a tropical vibe.

Other Fruit Ideas: This recipe works well with any type of frozen fruit - try watermelon, pineapple, or blackberry sorbet.

How to Make Peach Ginger Sorbet

A saucepot with simple syrup and sliced ginger.

Step 1: To begin, we're going to make a ginger simple syrup. Cook down sliced ginger in equal parts sugar and water until a clear syrup forms. Let it cool slightly before moving to the next step.

Check out my post on How to make simple syrup for more details on this quick sweetener!

Step 2: Add your frozen peaches to a food processor and blend until small pieces are formed.

Don't have a food processor? A blender works just as well.

Step 3: Pour in the warm water and simple syrup, then blend again until you have a soft sorbet texture.

Step 4: That's all it takes! You can enjoy right now, or let it firm up just a bit in the freezer.

    Recipe Pro Tip

    1. Like a more firm sorbet? Instead of enjoying right after blending, add to a loaf pan or deli container and cover with cling wrap and a lid. Then freeze for about an hour before stirring and serving.

    Recipe FAQs

Can I make this sorbet without any added sugar?

Yes, you can! Use a bit of ginger paste instead of fresh ginger, and sweeten with pineapple juice, honey, or agave syrup.

How long does homemade peach ginger sorbet keep in the freezer?

Properly stored in an airtight container, this sorbet will keep for up to 4 months.
When you're ready to eat, I recommend letting the container sit out on the counter for a few minutes until it begins to thaw; then, stir well to get that soft and smooth texture back.
