This Raspberry Beret Smoothie Bowl is packed with fiber and nutrients, plus it's surprisingly filling but light. Within just a few minutes, you can have a delicious sweet treat made from ingredients you will feel great about.

The third installment of my Music Smoothie Bowl Series is dedicated - again - to the super talented artist forever known as Prince. Some fun facts: "Raspberry Beret" is typically regarded as Prince's first full-on pop song. It incorporates strings, Middle Eastern finger cymbals, and even a harmonica (in the extended version). Following Prince's untimely passing, "Raspberry Beret" re-charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #33.
This raspberry smoothie doesn't use any bananas to get that thick, creamy texture. Top with your favorite pairings, and you have a nutritious bite ready in less than 10 minutes.

Ingredients

- Frozen Raspberries - The main ingredient in a raspberry smoothie bowl, of course. Grab frozen ones for the base, and add a few fresh raspberries on top if you like.
- Frozen Cauliflower - One of my hacks to get thick smoothies perfect for bowls without using bananas! I recommend the riced cauliflower if you don't have a high-powered blender.
- Honey - To sweeten up the base since raspberries are a little tart. You can skip this ingredient if you prefer.
- Almond Milk - Helps to bring all of our ingredients together in the blender.
- Topping Ideas - Get creative! I always add homemade granola, fresh berries, and some form of crunch like chia seeds.
Variations and Substitutions
Cauliflower Substitute: This frozen, fully cooked veggie makes an extra-creamy smoothie bowl without altering the taste. If you're not a cauliflower fan, try frozen zucchini instead for another neutral add-in. Bananas also work, but their flavor usually takes over.
No Added Sweeteners: To sweeten the smoothie without any additional sweeteners (and keep it Whole30), try adding frozen cherries, strawberries, or chopped dates to the blender.
Other Mix-Ins: Protein powder, yogurt, or an açaí packet are great to mix into the smoothie base.
Topping Ideas: Try sliced almonds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, shredded coconut, or extra sliced fruit on top. You can also drizzle on peanut butter or almond butter.

Recipe Pro Tips for a Creamy, Thick Raspberry Smoothie Bowl
- Set your frozen ingredients out for 5 minutes. This is especially important if you don't have a high-powered blender.
- Use a small amount of milk. Adding a ton of milk will thin the smoothie out quickly. Trust the process, and stop blending every so often to scrape down the bowl if needed.
- Keep the bowls cold. I always store the bowls in the freezer while preparing everything. This way, your smoothie bowl doesn't start melting right away!
Recipe FAQs
Nope - this is a no-banana raspberry smoothie bowl!
I'm honestly not a fan of banana flavor, and the flavor is so overpowering in smoothies. To mimic the creamy texture that banana lends, we're using frozen cauliflower which has a neutral flavor and extra vitamins.
You can pre-portion the ingredients (except the milk) in freezer-safe bags and store them in the freezer. When you're ready to eat, simply blend the contents of the bag with some milk; then serve.
Add any leftover smoothie base to an ice tray. Freeze until solid, then store in a freezer-safe container.
Later, you can pop those frozen cubes right back into your blender to make another smoothie or smoothie bowl!
