5-Ingredient Mango Salsa goes so well with tons of seafood dishes like fish or shrimp tacos. The sweetness of the mangoes - paired with a kick of spice from fresh jalapeños - really sets off a meal or snack!

The next time mangoes are on sale, spice up your household's taco night with this homemade mango salsa! The flavors are perfectly balanced; and besides a little chopping, it comes together so easily. I recommend pairing with plantain chips for an elevated snack or side dish.

    Ingredients

A wooden board containing a mango, lime, cilantro, jalapeno, red onion, and salt and pepper.
    • Mango - Grab a juicy, ripe mango for the perfect amount of natural sweetness.
    • Jalapeño - This provides a small amount of kick that makes a salsa shine. For more spice, use more of the seeds inside; for less spice, leave the seeds out!
    • Lime - To give our salsa some acidity and brightness.
    • Cilantro - A staple herb in Mexican-inspired dishes.
    • Red Onion - Red onion gels very well in this dish - but you can use white onion in a pinch.
    • Seasonings - Technically ingredients #6 and #7, a pinch of salt and pepper to taste will tie your mango salsa together beautifully.

    How to Make Mango-Jalapeño Salsa

This is a really simple recipe. Simply chop your vegetables and herbs, add to a large bowl, and squeeze a fresh lime over everything. Toss to combine and enjoy!

    Recipe Pro Tips

    1. Control your spice levels. If you like a lot of spice in your mango salsa, you can use more jalapeño seeds in the bowl. If you're looking for a more mild dish, leave most or all of the seeds out!
    2. Dice evenly. Dicing the mango, jalapeno, and red onion into even, small pieces makes for a better salsa.
    3. Chill for a second. For the best flavor, let the ingredients mix and marinate together in the refrigerator before serving! You can cover and chill for up to 1 day and then serve with tortilla chips, plantain chips, or on top of tacos.

    Recipe FAQs

What can I serve mango salsa with?

Mango salsa is best served on more tropical dishes, like Baja fish tacos or jerk chicken. I also used it to top off my Shrimp Jicama Tacos (Whole30) because the salsa is completely Whole30 compliant!

You can also tackle it with a big bowl of tortilla or plantain chips.

How long does mango salsa last?

Keep sealed and covered in the fridge for up to 4 days.
