Ground Chicken Tacos are one of our favorite easy meals for Mexican night at home! Simply cook up some seasoned ground chicken, warm up corn tortillas, and top with fresh veggies and herbs. They're so delectable!

Ground chicken is a great option to switch up your typical beef-forward meals. It's lighter, with less fat/calories, and is typically cheaper than ground turkey. Today we're using a pack for tacos; but if you're wanting some more chicken mince options - try my Juicy Chicken Meatballs, Chicken Burger Bowls (Whole30!), or Egg Roll in a Bowl.

    The Coined Breakdown

    Ingredients

A wooden board containing ingredients for chicken tacos; including ground chicken, pico, limes, and corn tortillas.
    • Ground Chicken - You can usually find this right next to the ground turkey in the grocery store. One pound stretches to about 4 people; double the recipe for bigger crowds.
    • Taco Seasoning - Use a homemade blend, or your favorite brand-name seasonings.
    • Corn Tortillas - Make sure to warm your tortillas up to avoid ripping... Corn tortillas are fragile when cold/room temperature!
    • Toppings - Get creative! Anything from Mexican Rice, refried beans, lettuce, or cilantro tastes great on ground chicken tacos.

    Variations and Substitutions

Tortillas: Not a fan of corn? I have a really easy recipe for buttery, Homemade Flour Tortillas that pair perfectly with the ground chicken!

Salsas: Traditional Pico de Gallo is always a hit. You could also top these tacos with Mango Salsa or Fire-Roasted Salsa for a kick.

How to Make Ground Chicken Tacos

You guys know that standard tacos don't take much effort to make.

    1. Simply cook your seasoned ground chicken, being sure to chop it up into small pieces using a spatula.
    2. While that's cooking, prepare your corn tortillas by warming them up until pliable on a clean skillet.
    3. Set out all your other toppings like crumbled cheese, salsas, guacamole, and limes.
    4. Once the chicken and tortillas are ready, you can serve just like that! Allow your family to prepare their tacos to their preference - this saves you the extra effort.

    Recipe Pro Tip

    1. Warm your tortillas. Using room temperature corn tortillas lead to them falling apart into a big mess. Be sure to warm them up using a clean skillet or griddle.

These Ground Chicken Tacos are lighter than ground beef or pork, but don't skimp on the flavor. Make your next Taco Tuesday meal absolutely stellar!
