    Ingredients

A wooden board containing ingredients for turkey and cheese sliders, including lettuce, sweet rolls, and melted butter.
    • Deli Turkey Breast - The main protein in our sliders. I love using the thinly sliced kind and piling it on!
    • Swiss Cheese - You can switch this out for your favorite flavor of cheese if you want.
    • Lettuce Slaw - Just for a nice crunch, we make a quick slaw from Romaine lettuce, mayo, spices, and a few secret ingredients to pump up the flavor like red wine vinegar and pickled jalapeño juice.
    • Garlic Butter - Mix together melted butter with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and grated parmesan. This will be brushed on top of the buns.
    • Hawaiian Sweet Rolls: We use these for the slider buns. They're fluffy and have a slight sweetness that's just fantastic!

    Variations and Substitutions

Traditional Coleslaw: Prefer a traditional coleslaw made with cabbage? Try my Classic Coleslaw with Mayo.

Topping Ideas: You can switch the meat and cheese to your preference. How about sliced deli chicken or ham with pepper jack or white American cheese? You could also pile on the veggies - sliced pickles, honey mustard, pickled onions, or sliced jalapeños for a kick.

Vegan Pulled Pork Sandwiches: These BBQ Jackfruit Sliders are great for a meatless sandwich that's packed with flavor.

How to Make Turkey & Cheese Sliders with Garlic Butter

A bowl filled with romaine lettuce coleslaw with a spoon sticking out of it.

Step 1: To begin, go ahead and mix together your lettuce slaw ingredients in a bowl. Set in the refrigerator while you assemble the sliders.

A sheet pan topped with Swiss cheese slices on a block of bottom buns.

Step 2: Slice a pack of sweet Hawaiian rolls in half, and set the top halves aside.

Place the bottom row of rolls onto a sheet pan and layer Swiss cheese on top.

Layers of deli meat on top of cheese and a row of bottom slider buns.

Step 3: Add your sliced turkey meat - using as little or as much as you prefer.

Garlic butter being brushed onto dinner rolls.

Step 4: Top with the top halves of rolls, then brush some garlic butter on top.

Broil in the oven for only 1 - 2 minutes on low.

A hand using a spoon to spread coleslaw onto halved bread rolls topped with cheese and deli meat.

Step 5: Set aside the top buns once more so you can add that cold lettuce slaw right on top.

A knife slicing a block of meat and cheese stuffed rolls into individual sliders.

Step 6: Finally, place the top buns back on and use a sharp knife to cut the rolls into 12 individual sliders. That's it!

    Recipe Pro Tip

    1. Transport with ease. Need to easily bring these to an event? You can follow the recipe instructions - but skip adding the coleslaw - and place the entire block of assembled sandwiches right back into the box and bag that the Hawaiian rolls came in. Tie to secure. When you're ready to serve, simply keep them in that same box, add the slaw, and slice into sliders right there. Easy!

    Recipe FAQs

Can I use leftover roasted turkey instead of deli turkey?

I think the sliced turkey from the deli will work a little better in this recipe.

If you really want to use roasted turkey, I would recommend assembling and topping it like a pulled meat slider instead.

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yep, you can! I recommend waiting to spread the coleslaw until right before serving

    Notes

    Ingredient Notes:
The lettuce slaw will hold its crunch for about an hour if you want to make it beforehand. The flavor increases when it’s been sitting in the fridge!
For a longer-lasting coleslaw, use cabbage like in my Classic Coleslaw with Mayo recipe.

    Transporting Notes:
Transporting the sliders? Keep the box and bag that the slider buns come in.
Toast the meat/cheese/bread, then bring the slaw separately and add on top right before serving.

    Storage Notes:
You can store any leftover sliders in an airtight container (or wrapped in aluminum foil) in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
When you're ready to reheat, preheat your oven to 300℉ and bake for 6-8 minutes, until warmed through. You can also add to a toaster oven or air fryer for a few minutes.
These taste really good cold as well - so feel free to skip any reheating if you want.

These were easy and quick! I used pepper jack cheese (our favorite,) and homemade deli chicken breast. We have a slicer in our basement.
